On the occasion of the second matchday of the CARIBBEAN CUP DE LA CONCACAF 2026, the dean of Caribbean clubs has once again proven that it is indeed one of the leading sides in the Caribbean zone by securing a win, not without a scare (0-1), against the Dominicans of Delfines del Este FC in its second outing in the Caribbean Cup. A success that keeps it alive for a spot in the semi-finals of this competition.
By relying on a standout performance from Elyvens Dejean, who scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute to make the difference thanks to a very good, well-worked cross from Stevenson Germeille, who was shifted out to the right flank. Inside the box, Dejean controlled the ball well and converted it into a goal.
At the end of this victory, which they fought hard to earn, Violette AC, leaders of Group A with six (6) points, will still need to try to claim a third consecutive win against SV Broki, whom they will face on the third matchday of the Caribbean Cup away on September 9. A match for which Rony Attimy’s men have already begun their preparations this Monday, August 24, 2026, three (3) days after their return to the Haitian capital, in order to better defend their position as Group A leaders and target qualification for the semi-finals.
The Vieux Tigres have been on fire so far in this competition, which they are participating in for the first time since the creation of this championship.
